A startup is like a roundabout, you can easily choose the path you want to take without creating a traffic jam. Those are the pivots, the strategic choices you have to make. Because if you don’t make a choice you keep going around in circles and that leads you nowhere if you want to scale.
A corporate is like a narrow busy one way street, you can’t turn around without creating chaos or causing accidents. Or it needs to be a very well coordinated move.
So when you are making strategic choices, make sure it’s the path you are certain you want to take because with each road you choose it becomes more and more difficult to turn around.
