Barry is a pricing consultant & advisor, helping manufacturers and wholesalers achieve double-digit margin growth by moving focus from price to value.

Originally from the coatings industry, Barry is currently a freelance Business Consultant and former NED with a Multi Academy Trust, where he was a member of the Finance and Resources Committee, Chair of the Teaching & Learning Committee, and Chaired a key project Sub-Committee. Before working as a freelance consultant, Barry successfully built and sold his own independent Management Consulting practice. His team led progressive transformation and the resulting organizational and skills development required, for a number of Asian and European based clients.

While a director and Board Member of AkzoNobel’s large Asia Pacific coatings business, Barry was a member of the remuneration committee, the risk committee, and led the strategy review team. He has been complimented on his strategic thinking and ability to simplify complex issues and to turn strategy into deliverable actions and projects.

During his time in Asia, Barry worked closely with the China leadership team, developing sales and distribution networks, supporting the development of the organization, and guiding the marketing and commercial team through the fast growth of the business. Together with the team, they worked together on a number of key projects, including China M&A deals, major product developments, and localizations.

Barry has strong commercial management experience, having led commercial operations and marketing functions for large corporations. A key achievement in these roles was EBITDA growth ahead of sales revenue and significant working capital savings achieved while leading commercial operations in Singapore. He has also chaired steering committees for major change and IT projects.
